Family Portrait Photography

Why not treat someone you love or even yourself to a portrait shoot from just £25?

Mark is an experienced Oxford portrait photographer who loves photographing families interacting. He has been producing beautiful, professional photographs for over 12 years of people having fun in front of the camera. Specialising in capturing natural and authentic moments, Mark always aims to ensure his shoots are as relaxed and comfortable as possible. This is often best achieved if the photos are taken somewhere familiar; you can choose your home, garden or a favourite location.

Family photography is not a rushed studio shoot with a tight time-frame; your family will have plenty of time to relax on the day of your photo shoot. Mark stands out from many studio portrait photographers in this regard! We happily tailor our shoots to create a personal experience for each and every client.  We can advise on outfits and include any of your ideas for your shoot. Then Mark will put you all at ease and capture a variety of lovely pictures in his signature style.

After your shoot, we will edit your pictures and arrange for you to come and have a viewing. You can choose how to present your favourite portraits and pictures either for your walls, albums or we also have some more innovative ways to show off your loved ones! We will also put your images on your own secure gallery on our website where family & friends can order their favourites.

Advice notes for family portraits

  • Be relaxed about your child’s behaviour; posing for the camera is not always the best look! A few tantrums are fine as well; after all we all have them now and then, and sometimes they can make for great pictures.
  • If you have small children, try and pick a time when they would normally be awake and happy – don’t pick naptime or just before lunch!
  • Avoid motifs and fashionable clothing that may date. When choosing clothing for the family try to choose colours the complement each other and not clash. Lighter shades work better than bright shades for most sessions. If coming to your home Mark will always be happy to recommend ideas on what to wear.
  • People often worry about older children and teenagers not relaxing. Taking children out of school a couple of hours early can be a good way of inducing a happy mood. It can also be better taking shots without parents or other family members present, teenagers in particular often feel less self-conscious in front of strangers, revealing a relaxed and natural side to their personality.
